(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, JUN 06 – Donald Trump has given his endorsement to House Republican chief Kevin McCarthy for another term in Congress, praising him as an MP and as the party’s “strong and fearless leader” in the lower branch of parliament . The endorsement comes two months after the release of the videos in which McCarthy whipped the then president for his responsibilities in the assault on Congress. His accusations were then put aside in the face of the tycoon’s lasting hold on the party and hopes of being able to become a speaker in the place of Nancy Pelosi if the Grand Old party recaptures the House in the Midterm elections. Trump, for his part, needs to have McCarthy’s support to counterattack the results of the House commission investigating the Capitol attack and which will be publicly illustrated starting this week.
