(ANSA) – NEW YORK, JUN 07 – New Yorkers are pessimistic about the future of the city and do not approve of the work of their mayor Eric Adams. This was revealed by a Siena College survey commissioned by Spectrum News NY1.
According to a majority of 56%, the city is going in the wrong direction and seven out of ten people feel less safe than in the pre-pandemic period. Furthermore, 76% fear that sooner or later they will be the victim of a violent crime. Regarding Adams’ management of the city, five months after taking office in City Hall, only 29% support him while 64% disapprove.
“There is usually a honeymoon period when a new head is elected – said Don Levy, director of the Siena College Research Institute, commenting on the survey data – well if he ever had it, it seems over”. (HANDLE).
