(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 09 – The “farce condemnation” of the two British and a Moroccan who were fighting with the Ukrainian army is “a violation and a mockery” of international humanitarian law and human rights. This was stated by the attorney general of Ukraine Irina Venediktova to the BBC.
“Russia once again distances itself from the rules-based system and shows a blatant disregard for the rule of law,” added Venediktova, noting that Ukraine has launched an investigation and will take steps to ensure that those involved in “this illegal action” are held accountable before justice.
