Colombia: photo finish in the Petro-Hernández ballot of 19

(ANSA) – BOGOTÁ, JUN 12 – The succession to President Iván Duque in Colombia will most likely be resolved by the voters at the photo finish on Sunday 19 June according to most of the polls published in the last few hours.

In the last seven days before the vote, the electoral law prohibits any detection of the mood of the electorate, while the two candidates – the left-wing senator of the Pacto Histórico, Gustavo Petro, and the independent conservative of the Liga de Gobernantes Anticorrupción, Rodolfo Hernández – will seek to persuade the Colombians at the last minute to trust them to enter the presidential Casa de Nariño.

Among the polls that lean towards uncertainty are the ‘presidential tracking’ of the Spanish institute GAD3 (Hernández 47.9% and Petro 47.1%), the survey of the Guarumo Institute (Hernández48.2% and Petro 46, 5%) and Invamer (48.2% for the independent candidate and 47.2% for the leftist).

Only one poll is decidedly against the tide. It is that of the YanHaas company which definitely sees a victory by Petro (45%) against Hernández (35%). (HANDLE).
