She wrote ‘How to kill your husband’, sentenced to life imprisonment

(ANSA) – NEW YORK, JUN 14 – Nancy Crampton-Brophy, author of the essay ‘How to kill your husband’, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of her husband. In May, the 71-year-old was found guilty of second-degree murder for shooting her husband, chef Daniel Brophy, in June 2018 at the cooking school where he taught.

In court documents, prosecutors said the 63-year-old man was shot twice, once in the back and once in the chest at close range. The couple, according to the papers released by CNN, were in debt since Crampton-Brophy’s self-published novels did not achieve great results, while he was insured for over $ 1 million. The woman testified that she was better off financially with her husband alive, and that the presence of her minivan near her school was just a coincidence.

According to investigators, however, he followed the man to work and shot him with a Glock pistol (on the spot the investigators found two 9 mm shells).

Crampton-Brophy admitted to the jury that he bought a gun and a ‘ghost’ weapon kit, but said they served as a research for a new book: “It was to write, not to kill my husband.” (HANDLE).
