Ministerial meeting dedicated to providing military assistance to Ukraine

Moldova, Georgia and Ecuador joined the meeting of the chiefs of staff and defense ministers in the Ramstein format. The meeting is attended by ministers and heads of more than 45 countries. This was stated at a meeting in Brussels by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, the meeting was broadcast by the Ukraine 24 TV channel on its YouTube channel.

More than 45 allies and partners around the world have provided military assistance to Ukraine since the start of the war in Ukraine, Austin said.

“Today I have the honor to host defense ministers and chiefs of staff from more than 45 countries, as well as representatives of NATO and the EU. I am also pleased to welcome Ecuador, Georgia and Moldova, who joined today’s meeting of the contact group,” he said.

The Minister also noted that since the last meeting, which took place three weeks ago, important progress has been made on several fronts.

At this meeting, representatives of the countries will raise the issue of increasing the supply of weapons to Ukraine in order to counter the full-scale war that Russia has unleashed. The first meeting of the group took place in April at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, the second took place on May 23.

What does Ukraine need

Ukraine needs Western arms supplies to win the war with Russia. Ukraine needs to receive:

  • 1000 155 mm howitzers;
  • 300 MLRS;
  • 500 tanks;
  • 2000 armored vehicles;
  • 1000 drones.

Lithuania will transfer a large batch of weapons to Ukraine, namely 110 anti-drone guns of its own production. The weapon was called the “Orc Killer”.
