(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 16 – “The Russian army continues its assault on Severodonetsk this morning as well. Our soldiers are defending themselves. Moscow troops are burning the villages of the communities of Hirska and Popasnyanska.
Yesterday we repelled another assault in Toshkivka, where destruction is increasing day by day, as well as in Viktorivka, Novoivanivka, Vovchoyarivka, Nyrkovo and other settlements. In Hirske alone 12 houses were hit during the day. “The head of the Lugansk Regional Military Administration Sergiy Gaidai said in an update, reports Ukrinform.
“Severodonetsk is a key point in the defense operating system of the Lugansk region – said Gaidai – this was confirmed yesterday by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russian army loses hundreds of soldiers, then finds reserves and continues to destroy Severodonetsk. Yesterday they hit the territory of a fiberglass factory and a former measuring plant.
