Zelensky first visits to Mykolaiv, near occupied Kherson

(ANSA) – KIEV, JUN 18 – The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, visited the war-damaged Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv this morning, in what is his first visit to the south since the Russian invasion began. The bureau released a video of Zelensky observing a badly damaged building and then meeting with local officials.

Mykolaiv, a port city of nearly half a million inhabitants before the war, is still under Ukrainian control, but is close to the Russian-occupied Kherson region. It remains a target of Moscow because it is on the route to Odessa, the largest port in Ukraine. (HANDLE).
