Ukraine: Deputy Prime Minister, leave Kherson before the counter-offensive

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 20 – The Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk has urged the inhabitants of the Kherson region to leave the area – even going to Russia – before the counter-offensive of the Kiev forces begins, thus facilitating their task.

Speaking to the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center, Vereshchuk said families with children in particular should take the opportunity offered by the Russian occupiers to leave: “Please leave, because our army will certainly liberate these lands. Ours. The will to do so is unwavering. And it will be very, very difficult to open a humanitarian corridor when there are children. It was difficult in Mariupol, and in the Kherson region it will be even more difficult.

Because the enemy learns, he becomes even more cynical, and uses human shields, especially children. We will know that there are children, and we will be helpless, and we do not want it. Believe me, the release will be very quick. There will certainly be a counter-offensive “.

The Deputy Prime Minister urged civilians not to refuse to travel through the ‘temporarily occupied’ Crimea and not to refuse the ‘bogus’ documents issued by the invaders, assuring that the Kiev government will not prosecute them for it.

“And as soon as you arrive on the territory of another state – EU or others – call our consulate. Even without documents they will let you in. If necessary, we will send you the (Ukrainian) documents through the nearest consulate”. (HANDLE).
