(ANSA) – LONDON, JUN 24 – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Conservative party suffered two crushing defeats in yesterday’s by-election, including in a constituency in southwestern England that the Tories had controlled for over a century .
The Conservatives lost their seat as an MP in the Tiverton and Honiton House of Commons, which went to the centrist Liberal Democrats, while the seat in Wakefield (Northern England) constituency went to the Labor Party.
The seats remained vacant after the resignation of two parliamentarians overwhelmed by as many sexual scandals.
