(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 25 – Ukraine could be forced to sign a “bad” peace agreement with Russia, against its own interests, due to the economic consequences of the war: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in the Rwandan capital Kigali, where he is attending a Commonwealth summit. The Telegraph reports it.
“Too many countries say this is an unnecessary European war,” Johnson said. “It is an economic problem that we do not need and therefore the pressure will increase to encourage, perhaps coerce the Ukrainians into a bad peace.”
The risk, continued the premier, is that “people do not understand that it is essential to oppose aggression”. If Russian President Vladimir Putin “manages to get away with the aggression in Ukraine – he concluded -, if he manages to get away with conquering the territory of others, then the implications for each individual country are absolutely dramatic”.
