The US Congress has drafted a bipartisan resolution that recognizes Russian war crimes in Ukraine as genocide.

It is reported by Foreign Policy.

Act of genocide

The resolution mentions the atrocities of Russian soldiers on the territory of Ukraine:

  • attacks on civilians
  • direct strikes on maternity hospitals and medical institutions
  • forced deportation to the Russian Federation and temporarily occupied settlements.

These actions meet the criteria set out in Article II of the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

The publication notes that the resolution is not legally binding, but it is a signal of condemnation of Russia’s actions and testifies to the efforts of members of Congress to provide continued support to Ukraine.

Invaders fired more than 50 missiles at Ukraine in the morning

On the morning of June 25, the Russian military launched dozens of rockets into Ukraine from the territory of Belarus, presumably from Narovlya (Gomel region), as well as from the Black Sea. Explosions, in particular, were heard in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr and other regions.

In the morning, an air alert was announced throughout Ukraine. A total of 52 missiles were fired in Chernihiv, Lvov, Khmelnytsky and Zhytomyr regions, information on other regions is being specified. In addition, the occupiers continue to shell Ukrainian settlements from “Gradov”, “Hurricane” and other types of weapons.

Earlier we wrote that military journalist Vladislav Seleznev called the situation in the Severodonetsk region of the Lugansk region very difficult, but he predicted when the Ukrainian military would be able to regain control over the city.
