(ANSA) – WASHINGTON / KIEV, June 26 – “The Lukashenko regime continues to allow Russia to use the territory and airspace of Belarus to attack Ukraine and kill civilians”. This was stated by the US State Department, reiterating the “condemnation” of the United States against Minsk “for allowing Russia to commit atrocities in Ukraine”. The US, the department concludes, “will continue to ask the regime to account for its actions”.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the people of Belarus inviting them not to let Minsk be dragged into the war alongside Russia after Russian missile bombings were reported from Belarus against Ukrainian territory. “I want to address – said Zelensky – the citizens of Belarus. To the people, both civilians and in uniform. You are involved in the war. And even more actively than you were in February and spring. The Kremlin has already decided everything for you. . Your lives are nothing to them. But you are not slaves and you are not cannon fodder. You must not die. And you cannot let anyone decide for you. ” (HANDLE).
