Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed his participation in the G20 summit. At the same event, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky was invited to speak. The summit is scheduled for November 15-16.

This is reported by a number of Russian media.

“Putin accepted the invitation of his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo to the G20 summit, which will be held on the island of Bali on November 15-16,” – Propaganda media write, citing the Kremlin’s statement.

It is also reported that Indonesia, which will host the meeting this year, hopes for a face-to-face format of the event.

US does not want to see Russia at the G20 summit

A month after the large-scale invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine US President Joseph Biden called for Russia’s exclusion from the G20. He also suggested giving Ukraine the opportunity to participate in G20 meetings. Since the next summit was planned in six months, the question hung in the air. Meanwhile, the host of the future summit is the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo decided to become a peacemaker and invited to the summit as Vladimir Zelensky as a guest, and wishing to destroy Ukraine Putin.

Soon, representatives of the White House expressed their unwillingness to be in the same room with Putin once again.

The White House has privately told Indonesia that Russia should not be allowed to attend this year’s G20 summit, CNN reported. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated that although there are still six months before the summit, the position of the US leader is clear.

“The President has publicly expressed his opposition to Putin’s participation in the G20. We expressed our opinion that we do not think they should be part of a public event or in private. A lot can happen during this time, but we certainly do not see yet signs that Russia plans to constructively participate in diplomatic negotiations,” Psaki replied to the corresponding question from journalists.
