Medvedev, don’t touch Crimea or it’s a world war

If NATO tries to wrest Crimea from Russian control, it will cause “World War III” to break out. As has often happened since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, it is up to former president Dmitri Medvedev to make a big voice to indicate the red lines of the Kremlin. But to raise his voice, this time dissenting, is also one of the major oligarchs, Oleg Deripaska, who calls the invasion of Ukraine a “colossal mistake”. Meanwhile, Moscow extends sanctions against American officials, including President Joe Biden’s wife and daughter.
“Any attempt to invade Crimea would amount to a declaration of war against Russia. If a NATO member state makes such a move, it would lead to a conflict against the entire Alliance, to total disaster,” warned Medvedev, current deputy Secretary of the National Security Council. A clear indication, if ever needed, that Moscow considers control of the strategic peninsula – re-annexed to Russia in 2014 after 60 years of Ukrainian sovereignty (before and after the collapse of the USSR) – of vital interest, base of its fleet on the Black Sea.
