G7: a ‘climate club’ against global warming

G7 leaders agreed to create a “Climate Club” to strengthen and expand cooperation in the fight against global warming. This can be read in the draft of the final communiqué of the G7 summit in Germany.
“We endorse the goals of an open and cooperative international climate club and will work with partners to establish it by the end of 2022.
To promote urgent, ambitious and inclusive action to align ourselves with the 1.5 ° C pathways and accelerate the implementation of the Paris Agreement, we are committed to achieving a highly decarbonised road sector by 2030, a fully or predominantly energy sector decarbonised by 2035 and to prioritize concrete and timely steps towards the goal of accelerating the phasing out of national electricity from undelivered coal “.
