The British government today, June 29, announced new sanctions that hit the inner circle of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This was reported in the government itself.

New sanctions

As noted, among those who fell under the sanctions is Vladimir Potanin, who is the second richest man in Russia and the owner of a large conglomerate Interros. The British government said that Potanin continues to accumulate wealth by supporting the Putin regime, acquiring Rosbank and stakes in Tinkoff Bank after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The sanctions also included Anna Tsivileva, Putin’s cousin and president of the Russian coal mining company AO Kolmar Group. Her husband, Sergei Tsivilev, is the governor of the coal-rich Kemerovo region.

“As long as Putin continues his heinous attack on Ukraine, we will use sanctions to weaken the Russian military machine. Today’s sanctions show that no one is missing anything, including Putin’s inner circle,” a government spokesman said.

The UK government is also imposing sanctions on a group of Russian individuals and companies for their participation in the repression of civilians and support for the Assad regime in Syria.

In addition, the UK is working with international allies to introduce new measures that will prevent Russia from accessing British trust services.

Earlier, the Segodnya website reported for whom sanctions in the Russian Federation would be disastrous. We also wrote that the Russian Federation expects a new deficit due to sanctions.
