In Dhaka ceremony in memory of Italians killed in the attack

(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 01 – A commemoration ceremony was held at the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for the Italian victims of the brutal terrorist attack of July 1, 2016. The Director General for Italians at the foreigner of the Farnesina, Luigi Vignali, accompanied by the Ambassador of Italy in Dhaka, Enrico Nunziata, placed a wreath of flowers on the plaque commemorating our nine dead compatriots.

The attack carried out by seven Islamist terrorists took place inside the Holey Artisan Bakery restaurant located in the diplomatic district of Gulshan, not far from the Italian embassy. After throwing some hand grenades, the terrorists took dozens of patrons hostage and killed two policemen. The death toll was 22 civilians and 5 bombers, including nine Italians. (HANDLE).
