(ANSA) – NEW YORK, JUL 01 – The Americans are ready to leave for the long weekend of July 4th, which could be the worst ever in terms of air transport. In total, almost 48 million people should travel, of which 3.55 million should fly, but it is precisely the crisis in the aviation sector that risks ruining the holidays for many with delays and cancellations due to a shortage of staff. 5,827 flights were delayed yesterday alone, while another 639 were canceled.
Over 750,000 passengers impacted their flights in June alone on American Airlines, with 75,000 in the past two days. The worst situation was recorded at Newark Airport, New Jersey, which remains the most prolific in terms of cancellations, while Denver has the most delays. (HANDLE).
