(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, 03 JUL – In the last 14 days the US has recorded a daily increase in Covid cases of 13% (yesterday they were 113,490), while hospitalizations have risen by 11% (33,701, with less than 4000 people in intensive care). On the other hand, the increase in deaths was higher, with + 24% (387, against over 2600 per day at the peak of the Omicron wave). However, the situation remains below the warning levels.
In the month of June, however, the average number of infections was relatively aligned, without ever falling below 95 thousand cases or exceeding the threshold of 115 thousand. However, regional differences were noted: in much of the Northeast cases continued to decrease in June while in the South they doubled or tripled. (HANDLE).
