(ANSA) – RABAT, 04 JUL – A new wave of Covid hits Morocco which records an average of 3,000 daily cases in the last week, with peaks of 4,000. It is the contagion rate that worries, which went from -1% six weeks ago to 25% in the last few days. To date, nearly 25 million have been vaccinated, but most of them are still on the second dose, because only just over 6 million have received the booster dose. The Ministry of Health calls for general mobilization. Morocco has moved into a “red zone” due to the growing number of infections and the state of health emergency has been extended until 31 July. The invitation to strengthen immunity with the third and fourth dose of vaccine recommended for weak subjects is urgent and the invitation to use the mask in closed rooms and in particularly crowded places is back. The summer holidays are under the lens of observers, because this year coincides with the Feast of the Sacrifice, one of the most important in the Muslim liturgical calendar, for which families gather. It is a period of high mobility both internally and from abroad towards Morocco and therefore of maximum alert. (HANDLE).
