“We hope that the result of this meeting will be that Russia understands how widespread the consensus is about the need to make progress on the issue of grain,” said an unnamed Western official.

This year, the G20 meeting did not end with a final joint communique and a joint photo of the ministers participating in the meeting. The foreign ministers of the G7 countries staged a boycott of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, refusing to also come with him to a joint dinner.

Lavrov leaves the summit ahead of schedule

According to Spiegel, Lavrov leaves the G20 meeting ahead of schedule. He will not participate in the formal meal and work session in the afternoon.

“Lavrov will still hold bilateral talks, then he will turn to the press and leave,” – said the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry left the meeting room immediately after the speech. He also did not answer questions from German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock.

Recall that the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin confirmed his participation in the G20 summit. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky was invited to speak at the event. The summit is scheduled for November 15-16.
