The President of the United States signed an order for a new $400 million aid package for Ukraine.
It is reported by the Pentagon.
The document says that the American leader delegates authority to the Secretary of State to transfer $400 million in aid to Ukraine “for defense supplies and services of the Department of Defense, as well as military education and training.”
The new aid package will include four new HIMARS systems, 3 tactical vehicles, 1,000 precision-guided 155mm artillery rounds, anti-battery systems and spare parts.
“This is a new type of 155 mm artillery ammunition. It has greater accuracy. It offers Ukraine an accurate ability to hit specific targets. It will save ammunition. It will be more effective due to accuracy. This is a further development of our support for Ukraine in this battle in Donbas,” said a senior Defense Department official during a briefing at the Pentagon.
The same official noted that precision-guided projectiles for use in howitzer artillery systems already in Ukraine are already in use by the US military and in their own arsenal.
How much did the US allocate in support of Ukraine
The Pentagon also summed up the military assistance that has already been provided to the defenders of Ukraine. In just two weeks, it has already reached $2.2 billion. In total, since the beginning of the Biden administration, this state has allocated approximately $ 8 billion to help our soldiers.
It should be noted that this is not only about assistance with weapons. They also pay for the exercises necessary for the work of our military with the equipment of NATO countries.
Earlier, we reported that Biden was told who would make the decision on negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
We also recall what the people of the United States are ready to do to help Ukraine.
