Steve Bannon, Donald Trump’s former right-hand man in the White House, told the House Commission investigating the January 6, 2012 Capitol Hill assault1 that he is ready to testify after the former president stripped him of executive privilege. He reports ABC News that he obtained a copy of a letter sent by Bannon to the commission.
Trump’s former adviser also specified that he wanted to testify in a live, public hearing, unlike former White House attorney Pat Cipollone who spoke to the Commission on Friday behind closed doors. Bannon has already been charged with contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate with the commission, and the trial is expected to begin on July 18.
