(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, 11 JULY – “Weapons are the leading cause of death of children in the US”. The American president, Joe Biden, said in a ceremony at the White House for the tightening on weapons recently approved by Congress. “More high school students die each year than military and police together,” he added.
“If we have reached this point it is the fault of the arms lobbies, of the policies on arms”, the American president then specified, recalling that 40,000 people die every year in the United States due to gun violence. “Assault rifles are not needed outside of war zones,” he recalled. (HANDLE).
