(ANSA) – BEIJING, 12 JUL – Japan greets former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe along the funeral procession in Tokyo, with the participation of tens of thousands of people. After the long lines that formed outside the Zojoji Buddhist temple in central Tokyo, the place where the funeral was held, the hearse with the body of the longest-serving former prime minister of the post-war draping the national flags of Japan, the ‘Hinomaru’.
In an armored city with exceptional security measures and with a dozen helicopters in flight, most of the people expressed their respect through a deep bow and hands folded in prayer, as the coffin passed, based on the images transmitted in live on NHK state TV.
Others, however, applauded and greeted. (HANDLE).
