Ukraine: EU, investigations into 21,000 possible war crimes

(ANSA) – BRUSSELS, JULY 12 – “At the moment over 21,000 possible war crimes are being investigated in Ukraine”. This was stated by Didier Reynders, European Commissioner for Justice, at the end of the informal council in Prague. “Fourteen EU member states are conducting independent investigations while Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia are part of a joint investigation team, with Eurojust, the Hague International Criminal Court and the Use, “he added. “I asked all member countries, if they have national investigations underway, to be part of the joint team”, he specified, asking for coordination between the prosecutors.
