US, 3 men accused of stealing ‘Hotel California’ notes

(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, 12 JUL – Three men have been accused of trying to sell about 100 pages of handwritten notes from the Eagles’ famous album ‘Hotel California’, which had been stolen. Abc news reports it.

Craig Inciardi, 58, Edward Kosinski, 59, and Glenn Horowitz, 66, have pleaded innocent. “Although they knew the documents had been stolen,” the three defendants “attempted to sell the manuscripts, falsified provenance documents and lied to auction houses, potential buyers and law enforcement agencies,” the indictment reads.

The case dates back to the late 1970s, when a writer hired by the Californian band to write their biography stole the notes. According to the Manhattan prosecutor’s office, the man sold them to Horowitz, who will then sell them to Inciardi and Kosinski.

It is estimated that the pages of music and words written by Don Henley, one of the founders of the historic group, are worth more than a million dollars. (HANDLE).
