(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, 14 JUL – Over 500 women have sued Uber denouncing being raped and harassed by their drivers. This was reported by the law firm that is following the lawsuits filed in a court of San Francisco.

The 550 women, who live in different states, “were raped, sexually assaulted, mistreated, persecuted, harassed or attacked by the Uber drivers who accompanied them,” the document reads, as reported by ABC news.

The abuses took place between 2015 and 2022. The complaints come two weeks after the publication of a safety report by Uber which reveals that there were at least 3,824 incidents of sexual violence between 2019 and 2020, which they range from “non-consensual kissing” to rape.
