Pakistan: 15 deaths from monsoon rains in the last 24 hours

(ANSA) – ISLAMABAD, JUL 18 – The toll of monsoon rains in Pakistan has risen to over 200 deaths, after another 15 people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest statistics published in the evening by the National Disaster Management Authority at least 203 people have died and another 186 (+16 in the last 24 hours) have been injured in incidents related to monsoon rains in the country since mid-June.

During this period, 3,374 homes were damaged while 1,504 animals were killed. The southwestern province of Balochistan is the worst affected area with 73 deaths, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh with 47 and 44 deaths respectively.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in the southern and southwestern parts of the country in the next 24 hours. (HANDLE).
