(ANSAmed) – TEL AVIV, JUL 18 – “The preparation of a military option against Iranian nuclear power is a moral duty for us, as well as a national security imperative”: the chief of staff, gen. Aviv Kochavi.
“Israel continues to actively prepare an attack on Iran in order to be in a position to face any eventuality. Our preparations for military action against the Iranian nuclear project – he added – are at the heart of all our military projects in general”.
Gen Kochavi specified that Israeli preparations “include a range of operations, the deployment of reserves, supplies of adequate combat assets, intelligence and training”.
The Israeli chief of staff said this a few hours after the declarations of Kamal Kharazi, president of the Strategic Council for International Relations, arrived from Tehran, according to which “Iran has the technical capabilities to make an atomic bomb”, even if on the matter, he added, “he has not yet taken any final decision”.
According to some Israeli analysts, the intervention of gen.
Kochavi was also directed to the President of the United States, Joe Biden, who during his visit to Jerusalem reiterated that diplomacy remains the preferable option to block Iranian nuclear projects, referring in particular to the negotiations underway to restore the agreement on the nuclear power plant in 2015, sunk by the departure of Donald Trump in America in 2018.
