(ANSA) – LONDON, JUL 18 – The race to succeed Boris Johnson as Tory leader and future British premier is restricted to four survivors, after the third ballot conducted in the afternoon between the deputies of the majority party and the elimination of Tom Tugendhat , chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of Municipalities.
Rishi Sunak, Penny Mordaunt, Liz Truss and Kemi Badenoch remain in contention – in order of preference.
With the former chancellor Sunak and the former defense minister Mordaunt still in front of the foreign holder Truss in the match to get to the final two-handed ballot on Wednesday: to be entrusted to the vote of the members by 5 September.
