(ANSA) – NEW DELHI, JULY 19 – “A rigorous health screening on all travelers from abroad”: this is the recommendation of the Ministry of Health of Delhi after the discovery of the second case of monkeypox in the country.
Both patients are in Kerala, a South Indian state, where they arrived on flights from the United Arab Emirates.
The Ministry, in its communiqué, also invites the managers of the local districts to coordinate with the competent authorities to promptly isolate all suspected cases.
Yesterday a meeting was held in Delhi with the health officials of the airports and ports and the directors of the local health offices; the meeting gave rise to guidelines for managing the disease and fighting its spread.
