(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 20 – The climate activists of Extinction Rebellion broke through the glass window at the entrance of the News Uk headquarters in London on Tuesday to protest against the climate coverage on Sun and Times, newspapers of Rupert Murdoch’s group.
These newspapers are accused of downplaying the ongoing heat wave, with photos of women in bikinis and children happy in the sun, instead of giving people directions on how to protect themselves.
Protesters wrote “Tell the truth” and “40 degrees equals death” at the entrance to the building and pasted recent articles that allegedly belittled the climate issue to the walls.
Activist Steve Tooze, a former Sun and Daily Mail reporter, said in a statement, “These papers have spent 30 key life-or-death years denying or ignoring the climate crisis to ensure business as usual continues.” . (HANDLE).
