Spain: fires, interrupted high-speed lines restored

(ANSA) – MADRID, 20 JUL – In the last few hours in Spain the circulation of trains on the sections of the high-speed lines interrupted due to active fires in the vicinity has been restored. This was announced by Renfe, the company that manages railway traffic for passengers in the Iberian country.

The line on which the most inconveniences have been encountered in recent days is the one that connects Madrid and Galicia, as it crosses areas highly affected by fires, such as some provinces of Castile-Leon. There were also problems on the Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona line last night. On this route, there are still problems with regard to regional trains.

The fire emergency is not over yet, however, due to the high temperatures that are recorded in various areas of the country.

“There will still be difficult days,” Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said yesterday afternoon. (HANDLE).
