Ukraine, Moscow announces: ‘The objectives now go beyond the Donbass’

Russian military objectives have changed and no longer focus “only” on eastern Ukraine and the Donbass but concern “a series of other territories”, Russian Foreign Minister Serghei Lavrov announced to RT.

“The geography is now different. There are not only the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk (the separatist territories in eastern Ukraine, ed), but also the regions of Kherson and Zaporizhia (in the south) and a number of other territories, and this process continues, steadily and stubbornly, “Lavrov said.

Ukraine calls on its Western allies to “increase sanctions on Russia and speed up arms supplies” in response to the announcement by Russian Foreign Minister Serghei Lavrov that Moscow will extend its offensive beyond the Donbass territories. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this in a tweet. “By confessing his dreams of seizing more Russian territory, the Russian foreign minister confirms that Russia rejects diplomacy and focuses on war and terror. Russians want blood, not talks.”

“We need air defense systems. Not to attack another country in its territory but to defend ourselves against attacks so that Ukrainian children are not killed in their pushchair.” Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska asked the US Congress. “Russia kills us, the United States saves us,” said the wife of President Zelensky, thanking the United States for their help. “Unfortunately the war is not over yet,” she added.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces and long-range artillery will teach Mr. Lavrov about geography.” Mikhailo Podolyak, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, wrote it on Twitter, responding to the words of the Russian Foreign Minister, according to which the offensive will expand to other territories beyond the Donbass because “the geography has now changed” for missiles a long range provided by the US in Kiev.

“A new era begins in the history of the world”, an era in which “only truly sovereign states will be able to show high growth rates”. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. As for Russia, Putin said that “the mechanisms of power must be made more open” and the country “must move forward, because it is unacceptable to rest only on one’s laurels and enjoy the successes of the ancestors”. Putin, quoted by TASS, spoke in a forum of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

Russian troops opened fire on Kharkiv’s Saltivskyi district killing three civilians, including a 13-year-old, and one person was injured. The head of the regional military administration Oleh Syniehubov reported via Telegram, writes Ukrinform.
