(ANSA) – NEW DELHI, JULY 21 – Italy has decided to guarantee Sri Lanka an emergency contribution of 300 thousand euros to be allocated to food security: this was announced by the Italian embassy in Colombo. The contribution will be provided by the World Food Program (WFP / WFP) and will take the form not only of food donations, but also of targeted money donations and food vouchers addressed to the most vulnerable citizens.
“I am happy to announce this emergency aid, which is part of the close partnership between Italy and Sri Lanka”, Rita Mannella, Italian ambassador in Colombo, told ANSA. This contribution “is in addition to the 350 thousand euros donated in April for the purchase of medicines”, she specified. (HANDLE).
