(ANSA) – NEW YORK, JUL 21 – Donald Trump “tried to destroy our democratic institutions” and “opened the way to disorder and corruption” to overturn the outcome of the vote. This was stated by Bennie Thompson, the chairman of the commission of inquiry on January 6.
The public hearing of the commission of inquiry on January 6 opened today. In the courtroom to testify live are two ex-Trump administration, former Deputy National Security Advisor Matthew Pottinger and former White House spokesperson Sarah Matthew. Matthew left the administration for January 6 because she was “disturbed” by the events of the assault on Capitol Hill. Pottinger resigned the night of the attack due to Donald Trump’s tweet in which he called Mike Pence a coward.
