Syria: NGOs, Russian raids kill 7 people including 4 children

(ANSA) – BEIRUT, JULY 22 – Seven people, including four children from the same family, were killed in Syria during bombing by Russian airplanes. This was reported by the National Observatory for Human Rights in Syria, according to which the Moscow air strikes were carried out in the northwestern region of Idlib, near the town of Jisr Shughur, not far from the border with Turkey.

The sources report that the victims are two men, an as yet unidentified person and four children, all under the age of 10. Of the seven victims, six were civilians and a seventh was a militiaman. The civilians were all displaced from the nearby Hama region, sources said.

Russia intervened militarily in Syria in 2015. Turkey effectively controls, with the approval of Moscow, large areas of northwestern Syria, including the area hit by Russian military jets. (HANDLE).
