A fire broke out in Enfield, north of the capital and affected an area of ​​20 hectares, but was put down in the late afternoon, thanks to 100 firefighters and 14 vehicles. In Hayes, on the other hand, near Heathrow airport, 40 firefighters and six vehicles were sent to fight the flames that spread over five hectares, while in Thamesmead, to the east, 65 firefighters were deployed, eight vehicles and one boat.

A fourth bushfire, which caused significant smoke, was reported in Surrey, some sixty kilometers southwest of the capital, and resulted in the closure of several roads.

According to the government, firefighters had their busiest day since World War II on Tuesday. At least sixty houses were destroyed by the flames of which 41 in the London agglomeration alone. (HANDLE).
