Spain: active fires in seven regions, risk remains high

(ANSA) – MADRID, JUL 26 – Andalusia, Galicia, Navarre, Valencian Community, Castile-La Mancha, Castile-León and Canaries: there are seven Spanish regions in which active fires are currently recorded, while the risk of new fires remains ” extreme “or” very high “in almost the whole Iberian country. The news agency Efe reports.

The fires have been testing the responsiveness of the Spanish emergency services for over two weeks in several areas. So far, the most punished territories have been Extremadura, Castile-Leon and Galicia. Currently, among the most worrying fires there is one that broke out not far from the precious Natural Park of Doñana, in the province of HUelva (Andalusia) and some developed in Castigla-La Mancha and Navarre, according to Iberian media.

Meanwhile, a slight decrease in maximum temperatures is expected starting today after a long heatwave.
