Covid: stop with tampons, no longer required to enter Malta

(ANSA) – VALLETTA, JULY 26 – Malta has also implemented the promise to abolish all anti-Covid restrictions on tourism, adapting to EU guidelines. Since yesterday, even unvaccinated travelers arriving in the archipelago are no longer required to present the negative result of a swab.

In the two years of the pandemic, the rules for entry into Malta (which completely closed the borders to passenger traffic between 10 March and 15 July 2020) were the strictest among the 27 countries of the European Union. After the start of the European vaccination campaign, only green pass holders were allowed to enter. Earlier this year, it unilaterally reduced the validity of vaccination certificates to three months, causing negative reactions from many European airports. Subsequently it was decided to open the borders to the unvaccinated, but with PCR swab done within 72 hours or with the antigen performed in the last 24 hours.

The decision to remove all restrictions was taken together with the launch of the campaign for the fourth dose for all over 60s. (ANSA).
