(ANSA) – BEIJING, JUL 28 – North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is ready to mobilize the nuclear deterrent by threatening to “eliminate” South Korea and saying he is ready to fight any battle with the United States, among the signs that the country hermit could conduct his first atomic test since 2017.
Kim, speaking at a July 27 event to mark the 69th anniversary of the armistice that ended the 1950-53 Korean War, denounced the administration of South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, saying that any attempt to neutralize the North it would find “a severe response and annihilation,” the KCNA reported today.
