(ANSA) – BRAZIL, JUL 29 – The former Brazilian president and candidate Luiz Inacio ‘Lula’ da Silva maintains a solid advantage over the outgoing president who is looking for a reappointment, Jair Bolsonaro, in view of the presidential elections to be held in Brazil on October 2.
According to a survey by the Datafolha agency released last night, Lula collects 47% of voting intentions against 29% of the head of state.
The former leader of the Workers’ Party (Pt, left) got the same result as the poll released by Datafolha in June, while Bolsonaro, who runs for the Liberal Party (PL, right), won one percentage point.
In third place, with 8%, is a veteran candidate of the left, Ciro Gomes of the Democratic Labor Party (PDT, center-left) followed by Simone Tebet, candidate of the Brazilian Democratic Movement (Mdb, conservative) who obtains 2% of the sample consents.
If no candidate exceeds 50% in the first round on October 2nd, a ballot will take place on the 30th of the same month.
In that eventual second round, according to the poll, Lula would be elected with 55% against 35% of Bolsonaro. (HANDLE).
