Hungary: Orban’s councilor thinks back, I’m not resigning

Zsuzsa Hegedus thinks about it. The longest-lived of the advisors of the Hungarian premier, Viktor Orban, and responsible for social inclusion who resigned 4 days ago in protest at Orban’s ‘racist speech’ on the unwanted mixing of races, now, in another letter open, says that his resignation “has no more reason”. The rethinking came after Orban’s speech that Thursday, at a press conference in Vienna, justified himself by saying that his words had been “misunderstood” because he spoke of mixed races only from a cultural and civilization point of view.
“This explanation gives me enormous pleasure, my resignation no longer has any reason, I am at your disposal also in the future”, writes Hegedus who had qualified Orban’s words as “shameful, a purely Nazi speech worthy of Goebbels”, and expressed a harsh criticism on the authoritarian regime, established by the premier.
