(ANSA) – PHNOM PENH, AUGUST 05 – Russia recently sent a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, complaining that the United States is neglecting its responsibilities as a host country of the organization: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this, according to Tass reports.
“The United States, as the host country of the organization, has a legal obligation towards the UN and all its members to do everything possible so that any UN member country can participate normally and safely in the work of all the organs of the organization. The United States, of course, is evading this obligation. I recently sent a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations (Antonio Guterres), who in turn has a duty to ensure that the host country behaves decently, “Lavrov told reporters on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in Cambodia.
