Gaza: night of raid, Mansour, another leader of the Jihad, killed

(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 07 – The Israeli army continued to strike Gaza during the night in response to the rocket fire, while there is fear of escalating tensions in Jerusalem on the occasion of the celebrations for the Tisha B’Av, a Jewish holiday. The Times of Israel reports it, stating that the places of the rites are manned by massive police forces. Numerous pilgrims are already waiting to be able to access the Esplanade of the Mosques, where access to men under a certain age has been forbidden.

The Palestinian Jihad has meanwhile confirmed, as the ‘Breaking Dawn’ operation enters its third day, the death of the high commander Khaled Mansour, which is added to that of Tayseer Jabari, which took place two days ago during the Israeli raids. According to the same source, the commander of the missile unit of the Al-Quds Brigades, Raafat al-Zamili, was killed, ‘martyred’ in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian media – the Times of Israel website also reports – then reported 7 injured in the Israeli attacks near Rafah, where a residential building was hit.

The Israeli army, in an English-language tweet, claims to have targeted alleged terrorist tunnels used by Islamic Jihad. (HANDLE).
