Gb: new heat wave coming, drought warning

(ANSA) – LONDON, AUGUST 09 – A new heat wave is coming in Great Britain with temperatures that should reach 35-36 degrees in some areas of England, with the peak expected for the weekend. The Met Office reports this, according to which, in any case, it will not reach the record levels of last month, when for the first time in the United Kingdom a temperature above 40 degrees was recorded. Alongside the advice to the population to protect themselves from the effects of the heat wave, a new drought warning is spread: in several counties in southern England, restrictions have been introduced, such as a ban on garden irrigation, in order not to affect the reduced water supplies. Measures that could soon be extended to other areas and remain in effect until October. From the statistical analysis it has already emerged that the current year is the driest in the Kingdom since 1976. (ANSA).
