(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, 16 AUG – The United States today tested an unarmed long-range nuclear missile. This was announced by the Air Force Global Strike Command, as reported by CNN. The Minuteman III ICBM was launched from the Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, and traveled 6,700km to the Marshall Islands. It was a “routine test”, explains the Air Force, “to show that the US nuclear arsenal is ready”. The test was canceled on August 4 when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was visiting Taiwan to avoid an escalation with China. (HANDLE).
