British intelligence claims this in the latest report released by the London Ministry of Defense, after the recent explosions that hit the Black Sea peninsula.
Yesterday, “both Russian and Ukrainian officials acknowledged that an ammunition depot had exploded near Dzhankoi, in northern Crimea, where a nearby railway and electricity substation was probably also damaged”, London reports recall, adding that “Russian media they reported that a cloud of smoke also arose near the Gvardeyskoye air base in central Crimea. “
“Dzhankoi and Gvardeyskoye host two of the most important Russian military airports in Crimea. Dzhankoi is also an important road and rail hub that plays an important role in supplying Russia’s operations in southern Ukraine”, explains the intelligence, underlining however that “the cause of these incidents and the extent of the damage are not yet clear “.
Military sources in Kiev reported yesterday that the explosions in Dzhankoi were caused by an elite Ukrainian military unit operating behind enemy lines, while Moscow spoke of an “act of sabotage”. (HANDLE).
